	#08 Straw Applique Needles The Size 8 Straw needle is thicker and longer than the Size 9 Straw needle. Use it for both basting and hand quilting. The thicker shank accommodates a larger eye, making it easier to thread than the Size 11. Its thick shank also keeps it from bending while stitching.
